Ingredients

  • 500g shrimp, carefully peeled and deveined
  • 3 tbsp olive oil, cold-pressed and shimmering golden
  • 4 cloves of garlic, finely chopped and fragrant
  • 1 vanilla pod with an enchanting sweet scent
  • 1 cup of white wine, a wonderful accompaniment for our shrimp
  • 1 cup chicken broth, a gentle base for our sauce
  • Salt and pepper to enhance the flavors
  • Fresh parsley, a splash of green to finish
  • Boiled rice or noodles are the perfect base for our shrimp

preparation

  1. In a large skillet, gently heat the olive oil. The scent of garlic fills the air as soon as you sprinkle it in the warm oil and let it lightly brown.

  2. The shrimp are added with love, each one gently placed in the oil. Season them with salt and pepper and cook until they turn a nice pink color, about 2 minutes on each side. Remove the shrimp from the pan and carefully set them aside.

3. With a gentle cut, split the vanilla bean lengthwise and scrape out the sweet pulp. The vanilla bean and delicious pulp are added to the pan to release their enchanting scent.

4. Now add the white wine and chicken broth to our sauce and let it simmer until it thickens gently into a smooth consistency, bringing together the subtle notes of the wine and vanilla.

5. Now return the shrimp to the pan to soak in the sauce and simmer for a further 2-3 minutes until fully heated through.

6. Serve the shrimp in their fragrant vanilla garlic sauce on a bed of cooked rice or pasta. Garnish with a sprig of fresh parsley.
