Description
Hailing from Indonesia, these Tahitian vanilla beans are popular with gourmet confectioners for their versatility and subtle, fruity flavor. They are often shorter and plumper than Madagascar bourbon vanilla beans and have higher moisture and oil content. The scent of the pods is floral and sometimes reminiscent of liquorice, cherries or wine. Tahitian vanilla can be used in a variety of dishes including ice cream, cakes, cookies, vanilla sugar and homemade vanilla extract.
